Dual Mag Stereo Microscopes

Dual Magnification microscopes provide two main magnifications which can be selected typically by rotating the 'nose' or 'turret' of the microscope to engage a different power pair of objectives.  With 10X eyepieces the typical magnification ranges are 10X and 30X or 20X and 40X.  Extra magnification can be achieved by changing the power of the eyepieces, so with a pair of 20X eyepieces installed these magnification ranges would be 20X and 60X or 40X and 80X.  Because the 'nose' rotates ringlights cannot be easily added to these microscopes.  This class of microscope rarely is available with a trinocular head version so the only way to add a camera is to place it onto one of the eyepiece tubes with the appropriate adapter.  Often the optical quality of these microscopes is outstanding because each magnification is presented by its own pair of objectives which are optimised for that magnification..
