Digital Microscopes are available in a huge variety of formats ranging from handheld 'fat pen' types which can also be mounted onto a stand, to high magnification upright and inverted microscopes with built in cameras and displays. All are suitable for observing biological specimens of different types. In fact almost any microscope can have a camera added to it effectively turning it into a digital microscope. They all have the common feature of including a built in camera which will convey either live images to a computer or a video display or images and video to memory devices.
