About DinoLites
DinoLite is a complete digital microscope. It is most conveniently used with one of our extensive range of stands, although it can also be used as a handheld portable device. DinoLites were the first digital microscopes of this style and continue to be, by far, the best quality with:
- the best optics
- superior grade camera sensors
- the widest range of accessories
- the widest range of models and accessories
- absolutely superb software
- numerous innovative features
- high quality professional support
No other digital microscope can offer this.
Special unique additional features of many models in the range:
- Polarising facility present in all models with a ‘Z’ suffix. This really useful facility helps to reduce reflections from shiny surfaces. Extremely useful for many applications including entomology, waterborne subjects, imaging metal components and electronics
- Extended depth of field (EDOF) for stunning, crystal sharp images at high magnification present in all models with a ‘EDGE’ suffix. A highly popular and unusual capability automatically stacks images at different focus levels by internally automatically adjusting the microscope image position, analyses them and presents an output image with a hugely greater depth of field (Windows OS only)
- Extended Dynamic Range (EDR). Reveals greater detail in brighter and darker areas by bit depth stacking images that are automatically accumulated with different exposures (Windows OS only). Superb for bright shiny subjects and those with very high contrast ratios.
- Long working distance (LWD). This facility gives a wider field of view and allows viewing from a greater distance, ideal for working with tools under a subject and for avoiding lens damage due to proximity (eg solder sputter)
- A number of the models of digital DinoLites include removable and additional endcaps as standard for greater flexibility to maximise the number of applications and optimise image quality and convenience of u
DinoLite digital microscopes are most comonly supplied with a USB lead which plugs directly into your computer, just like a webcam. There are HDMI and Wireless versions also.
You install the DinoCapture software and drivers and immediately see a live image on your screen which you can save, record videos of, enhance, analyse and numerous other useful operations.
The microscope is a macro lens system which means that the closer you are to the subject the higher is the magnification. At each height you simply turn the focus ring to see the image. On most models when the end cup is resting on the subject you have two magnifications one much higher than the other available if you continue to rotate the focus ring past the first focus point.
