VideoMet is a powerful image analysis tool used mainly in industry for the accurate measurement of components. This interactive package has some automated elements for aspects such as edge detection and has powerful features when used in conjunction with an encoded or motorised stage.
To use this package user can set up their own classes of objects eg Hole A Diameter, Hole B Diameter, Distance between holes , Layer Thickness etc and then assign a particular measurement method to each object. Then you can freely choose between objects you are currently measuring and the appropriate measurement method will be presented and all data for each class is maintained in a table of results with full statistical summaries.
Further subdivision of data can be maintained for each field of view and each sample.
If an object that needs to be measured is larger than can be seen on the current field of view then, with an encoded stage (or motorised), a measurement can be started and the sample can be moved and then the measurement can be completed. If desired, at each measurement point, an image is automatically captured and transferred to a 'map' of the entire measured sample.
